This book was very helpful for getting myself organized and prepared for teaching my first beginner belly dance classes. I've been dancing for 13 years and just started teaching this week. From making sure you have a properly stocked dance bag, to structuring classes, to preparing you for the inevitable "concentration faces" that your beginners make (she was right - they don't look like they're having fun at all!), this book definitely got me off on the right foot. I think I will find myself referring to this book regularly as I progress as a teacher. Thank you for such a well thought-out resource!Product details

This is an excellent book for teachers who are thinking of teaching belly dance. It covers a variety of areas that teachers must be cognizant of, and is written in a matter-of-fact style--very practical.
Good book and good quality.
Awesome book and so timely. I am about to begin teaching and this gave me a ton of good information. 5 stars.
"Teaching Belly Dance" is a nice book. It has relevant material for teaching belly dance for new teachers and some ideas for those who have been teaching for 20 or 30 years. It is worth having as a reference.
Sara Shrapnell provides a wealth of knowledge for any teacher of Belly Dance regardless of what level you are at in your teaching career. If there is something you haven't thought of, not to worry as Sara has! Every tool that you will need to be an exemplary teacher is in this book. So buy it and be brilliant and have all your shimmy dreams come true!
I am not even finished with the book yet, and my mind is just blown by the wealth of smart and useful information available. Sara is very clear in what she says, and her ideas (and believe me when I say there are ideas on every single page) are invaluable. It has already challenged me to step up my game as a dancer and instructor and to make things more exciting and useful for my students. I taught for someone else’s studio for several years, and recently branched off to work independently. This book is definitely serving as a guiding light on my journey!
Very useful tips on teaching and organizing. I am currently re-reading as I prepare to teach classes again after a year's hiatus. I think that this book is a good foundation for any teacher. Sara's writing is clear and concise, and the book is well organized and laid out.
